Pink Stumps Day

IT IS not unusual to see school kids playing cricket at lunch time during summer; but it is very rare that schools’ efforts and their games help save lives.
Aldridge State High has raised over $ 2700 for the McGrath Foundation through their Pink Stumps day yesterday. The school’s well-known purple turned pink as students and teachers played against each other in a friendly two hour match on the oval, and shared pink treats on the sidelines.
Organiser and music teacher Adam Hodgkinson said the support of amazing staff and students helped them easily reach their fundraising target. “As a joint effort we’ve raised about $ 2000 or more Adam said. The money raised from yesterday will go towards the McGrath Foundation’s mission of ensuring every family affected by breast cancer has access to a dedicated breast care nurse.
