Certificate II in Rural Operations

The Certificate II in Rural Operations is offered at Aldridge through a partnership between the Australian Agricultural College at Emerald and Aldridge State High School. In this class students study 15 units of competencies to achieve their certificate. These competencies cover a wide range of both theory and practical components based on all aspects of Rural Operations. These include areas such as; mustering , handling and applying husbandry to cattle, care and riding of horses, fencing, tractor driving and maintenance, chemical use and handling. The practical component is fulfilled at “Narayen Station”, a 20,000 acre cattle property one hour west of Mundubbera. Here students stay for four excursions and work in the daily running and management of “Narayen”.

The Certificate II is a unique experience of not only gaining practical rural skills in a variety of areas but also benefits our students in personal growth and self-confidence.
