Dance

Dance is a powerful and dynamic form of expression, which promotes the development of a holistic individual. Through dance students develop as critical thinkers, reflective and independent learners and effective communicators due to their exposure to a range of different dance genres, contexts and situations (including both practical and theoretical). Throughout the grades the students are provided with opportunities to choreograph, perform and learn to appreciate and evaluate other dance works. This subject offers students a chance to learn in a physical environment that promotes an enjoyable atmosphere. Through their involvement in dance students develop many transferable skills for their future such as teamwork, problem solving, decision making, leadership and collaborative skills.
Junior Dance provides students with an introduction and insight into the world and components of dance and Senior Dance seeks to expand on this and create independent learners.
