Year 7/8 Agriculture


The aim of this course of study is to allow students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills with animals, plants and machinery. This course is a one semester course covered in year 7 or 8.

All units are practically orientated with activities based on the school farm.

Students will have learning opportunities in the areas of animal husbandry (including both farm and aquaculture animals), crop production , maintenance and operation of small machinery and applied science.

It is a wide-ranging course catering for students with diverse learning styles and abilities. Whilst it is not a pre-requisite ,it is useful background for students continuing into Agricultural Science, and Agricultural and Horticultural Studies in the senior years.
