Bring Your Own Device (BYOx)

Starting in 2017 students will have the opportunity to 'Bring Your Own" internet capable device. While we encourage students to bring a Windows 8 or 10 laptop, we will support tablets, iOS devices and phones.  Please be aware that Android and Apple devices will be limited to filtered internet and will not be able to access shared network drives, resources or printing. For more information on device requirements please read the 'ASHS BYOx Flyer'.

All 2017 Year 10 students will be expected to have their own device and are required to read the 'ASHS Student Charter', and return the attached Sign Off form. Onboarding will occur by the end of week 3. All students must complete the 'ASHS Before Onboarding Checklist' and bring this with them to their onboarding session.

An information session will be delivered to all year 10 students in the first weeks of school. This will include an induction session covering relevant information regarding the BYOx program as well as a session on responsible digital citizenship. Both of these presentations can be viewed under Related Links on this page.

Some school applications and shortcuts are installed on student devices during the onboarding process. Information regarding these is available from Related Links on this page.

Daymap is the online communication platform being used by Aldridge SHS this year. Because it is online, staff and students can access it at home and at school. All year 10 students should be connected to Daymap. Anyone experiencing problems can use the help document from Related Links on this page.

Daymap provides:

  • easy access to student timetable and school calendar
  • easy communication avenue for teachers and students
  • easy access to class homework, notes and resources for students
