Aldridge offers a proud tradition of character development and success through sport with a sense of belonging through our team and individual sports programs and House Identity provided by our sports houses. Alongside our swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals, our school offers opportunities to excel within Volleyball Excellence Program (the only Education Queensland endorsed excellence program in Wide Bay) and our recently now established Excellence in Golf Program.
Outside our Excellence Programs, our school teams continue to excel across a range of sports. 2019 saw our U15 Rugby League team finish as Wide Bay champions, and our Open Boys finish as district Champions. In 2018, our open hockey team placed 2nd in the state championships and between 2017-2019, our school futsal and soccer teams have regularly been involved in and won district competitions. In response to our strength in Hockey within this area, the school intends to establish a hockey program in the coming years, with experiences to further State Championships and opportunities in New Zealand. Sports like AFL, HPV, Basketball, Netball and many more are also offered within the school for students to enjoy and participate in.
Through all these opportunities, Aldridge has provided pathways for students to excel through Wide Bay, State and National representation, and more recently beyond to connect with Scholarship opportunities in the United States.
