Making a splash at our annual 'Swimming Carnival'!

On Thursday, 15th February, Aldridge SHS hosted our first sports carnival for 2024. The lively atmosphere on the pool deck, featuring friendly rivalries and each house proudly dressed in their sports colours, made it a fun-filled day, with even the rain failing to dampen spirits.

The day featured not just swimming competitions but also fun activity rotations outside the pool. Students eager to earn extra points for their houses participated in kickboard throwing, a lifesaver beach rescue race, flipper relays on the grass, and a challenging rope rescue using plated weights.

At the end of the day Chappell House was declared the winners with 907 points, followed very closely by Goolagong house with 903 points.

A huge congratulations must go to the Age Champions for their amazing efforts: Rosey Cleal (12yrs Girls), Boyce Magdics (12yrs Boys), Lilly Nicholson (13yrs Girls), Charlie Gunn (13yrs Boys), Ella Proctor (14yrs Girls), Mitchell Wilcox (14yrs Boys), Bill Gunn (15yrs Boys), Aaliah Skuse Arrevillaga (16yrs Girls), Daniel Drew (16yrs Boys), Lucy Wilkinson (Open 17+ yrs Girls) and Coby Delboux (Open 17+ yrs Boys).

A very big thank you must go to Mr Rossiter for his organisation of the day, as well as the staff and students involved in the setting up and pack down of the event. The success of the swimming carnival was a collective effort, with many hands on deck ensuring an enjoyable day for all.
