Trudy Hawkins is the school based youth health nurse (SBYHN) for Maryborough and Aldridge State High Schools. The SBYHN is based at the school but works for Queensland Health. SBYHN’s work with young people, school staff , parents and other community members to promote health and wellbeing in a supportive school environment.  You can talk with your Youth Health Nurse about your health and wellbeing and they can help you get in touch with the right service.  SBYHN's do not do first aid:
Some issues the school nurse can help with are:
- Healthy eating and physical activity         
- Feeling anxious, unhappy or stressed  
- Relationships  
- Sexual health            
- Healthy skin  
- Personal and family problems  
- Growth and development  
- Smoking, alcohol and other drugs        
- Services available for support  
- Headlice
