Imagine. Create. Inspire.
About:
The Visual Arts program at Aldridge endeavours to equip our students with the ability to think critically and creatively. The learning experiences we offer involve students in the process of creative and innovative problem solving, in addition to the acquisition of technical skills. The arts offer students the opportunity to develop their creative and expressive potentials and aesthetic understandings.
At Aldridge:
Visual Arts runs through all grades at Aldridge. In year 7-9 students gain a variety of experiences in the art room learning the fundamental 2D, 3D and digital skills for senior arts. In year 10-12 students can select the applied Visual Arts in Practice or the general Visual Arts subject to cater to their career goals.
Why study Visual Arts?
Visual Art students have opportunities to construct knowledge and communicate personal interpretations by working as both artist and audience. In making artworks, students use their imagination and creativity to innovatively solve problems and experiment with visual language and expression. Students develop knowledge and skills when they create individualised responses and meaning by applying diverse materials, techniques, technologies and art processes
Facilities and Equipment:
F10 is the specialised Arts room armed with high quality drawing, painting, ceramics and photo media equipment. Students can access a range of specialised equipment throughout their course of study to gain experience applying a variety of media techniques.
